12-inch MacBook inventory numbers rise, device now available for Apple Store Personal Pickup

You can now snag the 12-inch MacBook via the Apple Store Personal Pickup plan.

Nearly four months after its release, the 12-inch MacBook notebook now has a strong enough inventory presence to qualify for Apple’s Personal Pickup plan.

The personal pickup option isn’t universal yet however, with only select configurations at select stores being available. For example, the 256 GB Silver MacBook is not available for personal pickup in New York, NY while the 256 GB Space Gray is widely available.

For months, most Apple Store locations have only been able to have the unit on display. This has led to many users reporting that they were unable to purchase from the thin amount of inventory.

The MacBook is currently showing shipping estimates of at least 1 – 2 weeks when ordered online. Comparatively, both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are showing shipping estimates of at least 1 business day.

Pricing for the 12-inch MacBook starts at US$1,299 for the entry-level model with 256 GB of storage while the higher-end model starts at US$1,599 with 512 GB of storage and a slightly faster dual-core Intel Core M processor.

Still, it’s nifty to see that the stock numbers are climbing.

If you’ve ordered a 12-inch MacBook notebook for Personal Pickup through the Apple Store, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
