NoBeige reader, Afredo Garcia, wrote in to inform us that AT&T is holding a promotion in which new subscribers would receive 10 CD titles for free. Unfortunately, there are several catches to the promotion for Macintosh users:
My name is Alfredo Garcia. I have chosen AT&T as my Internet provider for the family at home. I am a Mac user too. My first problem was not to be able to download the Mac software needed to become a member over the Internet (only for PC owners). My second problem was that I had to wait 7 to 10 days to get my CD with Mac software to join the AT&T Plan for the Internet. My third problem was to find AT&T Tech Support for the Mac is not able to support Mac OS 8.5 (latest OS) which is what I use in my machine. My fourth problem was with my children…. The AT&T plan includes 10 titles of free CD games and software included when you join AT&T plan. Now, I search for the options available today, 10 or 11 CDs are PC only and one CD is MAC & PC.
Readers who wish to see AT&T correct this trend for Macintosh users should send an email to the manager of this promotion, Doreen Bender.
