NoBeige reader, Philip Robinson, pointed us towards a very interesting USB device called the DATport by Opcode Systems. This cool USB device lets you input digital audio from sources with coaxial digital output. Although Opcode advertises iMac compatibility, Macintosh drivers and support will be announced in early 1999.
Import audio from a DAT machine or other external device, open the audio in your favorite software editor, then burn a CD. Easily connect your PC to S/PDIF-equipped multitrack recorders, digital mixers, external processors, or mic preamps for a super-fidelity audio connection…
