You might not be able to travel to Mars yourself but you’ll get the next best thing. The Mars Society has released the MarsArt Toolkit. For $25 (US) you can get a shareware toolkit to create visualizations of Martian landscapes for educational and recreatational purposes. The toolkit includes:

• Textures for Mars landscapes, rocks and sky
• Models of vehicles, habitats, equipment, and human figures
• Sample configurations and animations
• Complete instructions for use
• Updates and new models as they become available

The website reports that all proceeds of the sale of this shareware is going directly to the Mars Society for the ultimate goal of settling Mars. Platforms supported include Power Mac and Windows 95/98/NT.
