An Apple Tech Info Library (“Final Cut Pro 1.0.1: PowerBook Support“) mentions that the Newer FireWire2Go is currently the only FireWire PC card supported by the video editing package.
All importing, editing, and exporting functions of Final Cut Pro 1.0.1 are supported on PowerBook G3 Series (Bronze keyboard) models. Video capture and playback to tape are supported when using the Newer Technology FireWire 2 Go card. Other DV capture cardbus cards are not tested or supported with this version of Final Cut Pro.
