Ratoc Systems has announced a new FireWire PC Card similar to Newer’s FireWire 2 Go. Called the CBFW2, it features both 6-pin and 4-pin FireWire ports, while Newer’s card only has one 6-pin port (though it comes bundled with a 6-pin to 4-pin extension cord). Estimated street price of Newer’s card: US$249. Estimated street price of Ratoc’s card: US$248. Ratoc’s card will be available on the 12th, and Newer’s card will also be available this month.
