Several news outlets are reporting that DIVX, the horrible proprietary DVD competitor, is finally dead. The digital movie format developed by Digital Video Express LP was being pushed by consumer electronics giant Circuit City who will take a US$114 million charge related to closing out the business. A note on the Circuit City Web site states the “the Divx feature has been discontinued.” For more information:
