Problems with the Microsoft Office v.X Special Upgrade Program

I don’t know if you’re aware of the events associated with the Microsoft Office v.X (US$149) special upgrade program. It appears that their Web server has munged orders and sent out numerous copies of the productivity suite (as many as 60 to one customer) when only one was ordered.

This has exhausted all products from the inventory associated with the special upgrade offer. The sales associates are promising delivery of the product in January 2002. In my conversation with Microsoft customer service, they are doing all they can to get the product back so they can fill the huge number of orders that they have received.
