Somewhere along the line I must have missed a very important message or warning from Apple. Surely they must have sent me an email warning or a letter. I went to an Apple Store and purchased my first DVD-R?s. Everything seemed fine in the store as no one told me what horrible thing was about to happen. I did everything right. My iMovie led me directly to iDVD. I hit burn, inserted my new DVD-R and long story short, destroyed my Superdrive. After wasting half a day figuring out the problem the wonderful folks at Apple led me to a very important line in an online article I never knew was there. Apparently states:

Again, MacWhispers is insisting that the IBM PPC 970 chip production is underway — and slated for a Powerbook release is “rapidly ramped into actual production” with “actual assembly line operations expected to commence ‘this week, in volume.’”

The latest from the campus is that the 17″ PowerBook will be dual processor by 2004, or should I say sometime in 2004. Apple wants to be the first mass produced dual processor laptop on the market.

The 15-Inch TiBook should be Aluminum soon. According to PowerPage sources Apple has ramped up the production line and are getting ready to go from Ti to Al within a month or so.
