iPods Backordered Everywhere

I ordered a 30 GB iPod from MacMall on Thursday 01 May 2003. I don’t recall reading anything on any Mac news site about them not being immediately available. It’s now 12 days later and still no iPod, and a quick search on the Web shows that no one has them. When can we expect the backorders to be filled?

We have been hearing this from a number of readers. Apparently sales have outstripped supply of most of the initial production run of rev. C iPods. The popular 30 GB models were the first to go. Conspiracy theorists insist that the delay is so Apple can fix the pop between tracks that can be heard in Rev. C iPods. The Apple store is estimating a 3-5 day delivery time frame for the new iPods, so the log jam should free up soon.
