PowerBook 12-Inch Podiatry Issues

I contacted Apple Care yesterday to have them send me two new rubber feet for my 12-inch PowerBook. Rubber feet are covered by warranty but you must send it to Apple and they will replace the entire botton of the unit. The charge is US$700 to replace two 10 cent rubber feet.
Sound familiar? Unfortunately Apple tried to address the previous PB podiatry issue by switching to “pass-through” feet (rather than adhesive mounts) but if they break off, they have to installed through the aluminum case. I thought that this issue would surface first in the PB12 because it has been shipping longer than the PB17 and because it runs much hotter – as hot as 120 degrees Fahrenheit -Ed.
