MiCal Gives Quick Access To Your iCal Schedule For Today

MiCal provides a system-wide menu which quickly displays the user’s schedule for today based on selected iCal calendars, and an icon in the menubar which shows the current date.

More Customizations Coming to iPod UI

I was toying around with my new iPod (3.0) the other day and i selected “playlists” from the main menu, and instead of the new column coming in from the right (as usual), it came in from the bottom. i almost flipped my lid, i couldn’t believe it. of course i could not get it to repeat this and it’s not an option in “settings”. it could very well be a slight bug in the new iPod OS or a disabled feature but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to customize the column view like that? hmmm…

802.11g: From Five Times Faster to (Maybe) Two

This article from Mac Megasite (Final 802.11g spec reduces data rate) has really got me down. Airport extreme was one of the reasons I purchased the PowerBook instead of the iBook.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. (IEEE) has approved a new and final draft standard for 802.11g wireless LANs that will have a true throughput for Internet-type connections of between 10M and 20Mbit/sec., far lower than 54Mbit/sec. raw data rate initially billed for the standard.

Missing iPod Commercials

The commercials for Nic and the little kid singing the Eminem song are noo longer on the Apple site. Could not locate anywhere as either. Wonder if people took offense to the ads. I seem to recall that the Sir Mix-A-Lot video for Baby Got Back was banned from MTV and such.
