17-Inch PowerBook Podiatry Issues

Two of the rubber feet came off of my 17-Inch PowerBook. I called my local Apple Store and they did not have replacement feet for the 17-Inch. The sales rep suggested I call Apple Care. I called Apple Care and they said the feet are not covered by Apple Care and I would have too send in my PowerBook to get them replaced at a cost of $650.00. Has anyone else had the rubber feet come off their 17-Inch PowerBook? Hmmm, this sounds familiar. Luckily, mine haven’t come off yet. -Ed

Okay, so we all have close to a bazallion gadgets, right? I have a whole closet full of stuff! Do I ever use it though? Nope. What goes with me everywhere? My cell phone (a Sony Ericsson T68i, for the record) and my iPod. This sometimes leads to some irritation when you have to answer your phone, while enjoying your music.
So you are listening to you iPod, and your phone rings. We all know the drill. Pause the iPod to see if it really is your phone, yank of your headphones, try and try to push the talk button on your way to your ear so you don’t miss the call as it is your boss wondering why it is taking so long to get his lunch, right? SirMacius writes:
I’ve spotted the Cinema Display within the Matrix here.

Once again we seem to be in Apple Rumor Heaven. For those who may have been blind and not read a Mac based web site in the last week or so, you would notice the focus of just about EVERY site is rumors. Now, it is our policy not to publish rumors, but I think there is more happening than meets the eye. Lets us take a look at the State of the Macintosh.
Let us get started with the obvious. Since last fall apple has made only minor updates to the PowerMac product line. While they did increase processor speeds and decrease price, it is not all it is hyped up to be. Even though this is the Year of the Laptop according to CEO Steve Jobs, the PowerMac is the backbone of Apple’s professional market. More at MacHelpNet

An Airplane Hangar of a Backpack

Brenthaven Professional 17 BackpackYou already know that the PowerPage is comprised of a few select editors with a fetish for luggage, but a new bag from Brenthaven has captured more than my attention it is making me re-think ergonomics on a larger scale.
Most discerning Mac users will agree that style is key and the PowerPage has always credited excellent bag design where it is due. Take our obsession with messenger bags like the Timbuk2 Commuter Messenger Bag for example. Although it is great looking, it tends to lean more toward fashion over function. That’s not to say I dislike TB2 – no way – it’s just that the more you use a bag, the more you need function first.

Smaller than a business card, this is the first ultracompact camera to match or exceed the features of full-size cameras. 3.2 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, TV output, limited video/audio recording, highly customizable, great picture quality, and supported in OS X. A great PowerBook companion.

I ordered a 30 GB iPod from MacMall on Thursday 01 May 2003. I don’t recall reading anything on any Mac news site about them not being immediately available. It’s now 12 days later and still no iPod, and a quick search on the Web shows that no one has them. When can we expect the backorders to be filled?
