The problem with Intuit’s Quicken 2003 software is the 60-75% frequency of it crashing on quit. The error message, “the Application Quicken 2003 has unexpectedly quit…the system and other applications have not been affected” is provided without a specific error number. The same problem occurred with Quicken 2002 Deluxe….

The item in your previous article is not a Newton, but the Marco device manufactured by Motorola under a license agreement with Apple. There have been Newton clones from other manufacturers, too…

Doc Brown has found these nifty Bluetooth mice by Taiwanese company Cellink. Any chance of an importer Stateside? Doc writes “Looks more appealing for Powerbook use than Microsoft’s large BT mouse, and definitely better than Logitech’s measly offering.”

Ed: Our mobile guru-at-large R. Emory Lundberg has some (ahem) constructive criticism of iSync 1.1 for having half-baked Nokia 3650 support and still-anemic Palm support reliant on Palm Desktop. Has Jobs abandoned real Palm support in favor of phones? Wasn’t the whole vision of iSync total, seamless sync with everything? Have to agree with Mr. Lundberg here. -PK Read more . . .

Dan Deering has given the new JBL Invaders a full review for TheMacSource.com. Makes me want to consider trading in my SoundSticks — with a multichannel audio interface the speakers support 4.1 surround.
