I recently found a great home for my 12″ PowerBook in a bag that was never designed for this use… the Oakley Sand Bag!
The Oakley Sand Bag has a padded puch that fits the 12″ nearly perfectly, admittedly the zipper stretches around the corner just a tad, but it’s really OK. The bag is very comfortable wtih tons of space for extra stuff. There’s a detachable pouch for your cell phone, and it has a dedicated padded “music player” pocket (e.g. iPod) with a headphone pass-through, and several outside pockets for things like a water bottle, keys, etc…

And the best part about the bag? With a little dexterity, you can pull out the PowerBook – and put it back in place – without taking the bag off! The same goes for the side pockets. If you can reach your arm behind you to scratch your own back, then you can maneuver your way in and out of this bag.
