Home Phone Systems & Bluetooth

Why do we have to look up phone numbers at home? I use a Sony Ericsson T68i. I use the Bluetooth capability to sync with my Apple Desktop computer for contacts calendar etc. I think its fantastic. I also have a Siemens phone system for my home which is a two line 4 mailbox system with four remote / wireless phones that also is the intercom system in my home. It is a small business system.

What I find frustrating is that my cell phone has my entire personal phone book in it and I can retrieve and call numbers with ease. However, no non cell phone based phones have the ability to "Sync" phone books and the menu and retrieval capabilities needed for the same functionality. So at home or at work we are forced to open phone books or contact applications on computers to look at and have to type in to a phone device to make a call.

The introduction of Bluetooth into home and buisiness based phones to share this data seems like a substantial benefit. If I could link my T68i with my Home phone system and download my entire phone book into the system, and have the same menuing options as my cell phone does, this would be great.
