iPod your Smart Car

i-moveI just was at the Smart car Web site and their fortwo cabrio edition i-move includes an integrated iPod: “Experience the limited edition i-move: a sporty, elegant smart cabrio with an integrated Apple iPod MP3 player.”
It looks like Apple may have inked a deal with DaimlerChrysler in addition to BMW.
Smart is the youngest car brand in the portfolio of DaimlerChrysler AG and a member of the Mercedes Car Group alongside the big brands Mercedes-Benz and Maybach. 1999 saw the market launch of the smart cdi in nine European countries (Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and the Netherlands). Smart anticipates enter the U.S. auto market in 2006.

Why is the iPod such a phenomenon? Capacity, convenience and style. Home network integration is coming with AirTunes. The BMW announcement made a big splash and you know there is somebody out there who will buy a Bimmer as an accessory for their iPod. The next step is a true home entertainment device.
