Quality of Apple Products

Is it just bad luck or has the quality of Apple products is gone down? My last four Apple products all had issues:

  • PowerBook G4 500MHz: Four color lines in the screen, keyboard scratched the screen, bad scratches in the paint
  • PowerBook G4 550MHz: battery lock broke, bad scratches in the paint (like an orange peel)
  • PowerBook G4 1GHz, broken superdrive
  • iPod: will not start , battery holds charge for about 10 minutes
Customer service will sell me US$700 repairs or protection plans but they will not take responsibility for anything.Is just me? Have you had any issues with your recent Apple purchases?
