Mozilla Firefox Gets RSS Before Safari

Mozilla’s superb Firefox browser has beaten Safari to the punch, as far as RSS: the new Live Bookmarks feature provides in-browser RSS, including automatic detection of RSS feeds, just like Safari will. There’s another feature that Safari won’t have: RSS bookmarks act like regular bookmarks, so you can drop an RSS feed right onto your bookmarks toolbar and instantly see headlines. Better yet, you can share your RSS feeds between multiple computers. (It may even replace Bloglines for me thanks to this feature!)
Bottom line: Firefox lacks Safari RSS’s elegant view options, but it’s more flexible for adding and sharing and is at least half a year ahead of Apple. If you aren’t reading RSS feeds yet, now’s your chance: try them with PowerPage or my own createdigitalmusic.

Our summer meeting has slipped into early Autumn due to some busy schedules. Jason O’Grady will be in attendance and Rob Parker is always a question mark during the NFL season. I am looking forward to a well attended meeting.
