Mac OS Hints reports having problems using USB chargers with the PowerBook G4 Aluminum and Mac OS 10.3:
For years, I’ve traveled with a USB charger for my cell phone and PDA — it saves on lugging extra adapters when I travel. Once I switched to a 15″ Al Powerbook (with OS X), my USB adapters stopped working.
I use a USB charger for my Sony Ericsson T630 when I travel and have never had a problem. In fact, a USB charger is one of my single biggest recommendation to PowerBook users, just keep it in your bag and your never without power for your mobile phone. The best part: I picked mine up for US$11 on eBay.com, just search for “USB Charger” and your phone’s model name.
MacSlash is reporting that PowerBook users running Linux can (finally) use the sleep command:
Jeff writes “PowerBook owners could be interested in this: Linux finally gets support for sleep on PB. iBook support will come soon. This is a new little step you may like.” Only for ATI chipsets, though.
