Remember that great iPod/phone prototype from Applele (pictured at right) that we posted on 04 November? Well, a PhonePod may not be as far off as originally thought. A source writes to us about a rumored collaboration with Motorola to produce a iPod-based phone.
I just received word from a source/friend, that is very close to Motorola, that Apple just inked a deal with Motorola to jointly produce a motoPod. The assumption is that this will be a telephone base iPod using Motorola’s technology, however, I have no information to confirm that. My friend is fully aware of my obsession with Apple products and that is why he shared this information with me. I am wondering if this speaks to the recent discussions regarding Apple’s large purchase of flash chips for use in an upcoming iPod.Please note that this claim is unconfirmed and should be treated as such. Based on Steve Jobs’s comments about hating PDAs, we don’t believe that Apple will ever produce a mobile phone. Can you think of a good business case for an Apple phone? Will the iPod madness ever stop?
