The software allows current AirPort Extreme cards to be able to access 802.11n-based wireless networks at their full speeds.
The enabler software is included in the upcoming AirPort Extreme 802.11n Bases Station, which is set to ship in February.
The current Macs with 802.11n hardware built in are as follows:
-MacBook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo
-MacBook with Intel Core 2 Duo
-Mac Pro with AirPort Extreme option
-iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo (except the 17-inch, 1.83GHz iMac)
The AirPort Extreme 802.11n Enabler requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and an Intel-based processor to run. The software is available for $1.99 which Apple has stated is necessary to be in accordance with current accounting codes and methods.

This update has damaged my MacBook Pro C2D. Look at our thread in the apple support forums:

I'm not the only one.
It makes the wireless useless, and OSX freez's and crashs after a few mins. I paid for this update as well!
