Last week, Nike CEO Mark Parker confirmed that his company would be including Nike+ iPod sensor technology in all of its running shoes by the end of 2007.
Since its introduction in May of 2006, the Nike+iPod hsa proven popular with runner, the Nike+ sensor embedded within the shoes measuring data such as distance traveled and how many calories have been burned. Users can then control the track, volume and other playback settings via their iPod Nano with specialized software announcing significant points such as milestones achieved throughout their workout.
The current Nike+iPod Sport Kit retails for US$29.99 via Apple’s online store and includes a sensor that can be inserted into a Nike+ shoe.
