For those braver than me, the guys over at The Mac Observer have noticed that Apple has just announced special extended hours for their retail stores this holiday weekend and have also posted special hours into January.

The extended store hours will vary form store to store, but can be found here. Just go to the web site, pick a state and then a location to see the hours as they stand.

The company is also holding its annual one-day "Ready. Set. Shop." sales event today wherein the exact items on sale are a secret, though Apple typically offers discounts on new computers, accessories, iPods and other items. The sale will be available for both U.S. and Canadian shoppers who go to an Apple Store location or visit the web site.
