Boot Camp Beta to End on December 31st
All good things have to come to an end.
This includes incredibly useful beta tests.
On Wednesday, Apple sent along a note thanking its users for helping to test its Boot Camp software. The company stated that the trial would be ending on December 31st, 2007.
“With the introduction of Leopard, the Boot Camp Beta program has ended. The Boot Camp Beta software will expire on December 31, and Apple won’t offer further updates of Boot Camp Beta for Mac OS X Tiger,” Apple said in the note.
According to Macworld News, users will need to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5 ("Leopard") to be able to receive future updates to Boot Camp.
Currently installed Boot Camp partitions will continue to work after the beta expires.
Honestly, Boot Camp's been a fun ride and created an amazing Windows gaming partition on my Mac, so no regrets to trying it out in the least. Let us know what you think over in the comments or forums.
