Western Digital Releases 320 Gigabyte Scorpio Notebook Drive
On Wednesday, released its 320 gigabyte Scorpio hard drive. According to Macworld News, the SATA notebook drive is compatible with Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops, operates at 5400 RPS and features the following bells and whistles:
-12 millisecond access time.
-"WhisperDrive" feature for quiet operation.
-"ShockGuard" technology which incorporates a "SecurePark" feature that parks the drive's recording heds off the disk's surface during spin up, spin down and when the drive is off.
The Scorpio drive retails for US$199.95 and is available immediately.
