Macworld Sneak Peek - FastMac iV

Thanks to Jeremy Horwitz over at iLounge.com for finding this great addition to our iPhones: a battery extender (3x), camera flash and audio amplifier all in an iPhone case.

It is billed as a custom-molded case and battery pack for the iPhone, FastMac's upcoming iV (US$100) steps way beyond previously announced iPhone batteries -- and, in fact, most other iPhone accessories we've seen. The built-in power cell, selected by FastMac's experienced battery engineers and based upon the same charging technology found in the iPod touch, promises to triple the iPhone's battery life. Then there's the built-in iPhone camera flash (!), a speaker amplifier and a rotating belt clip that detaches or doubles as a video viewing stand. Impressively, iV has been molded to fit into a standard iPhone dock for simultaneous recharging of itself and the iPhone, and even includes a pass-through USB port so that you can connect your Bluetooth headset for charging at the same time. iV will be available for purchase starting at Macworld Expo on Tuesday.

Apparently Jeremy was one of the writers given pre-release access to this product so he could make these early observations. The people at Daily Tech Talk have also received early info for review and have made the detailed observations which can be seen along with pictures, after the headline jump. Since our fearless leader and iPhone aficionado Jason O'Grady will be roaming the halls of the Moscone Center, maybe he will add one to his arsenal of iPhone goodies and give us his personal review.

Let us know what you think over in the comments and forums.
