Raging Menace Releases Sidetrack 1.6

macbooks.jpg

On Wednesday, Raging Menace release SideTrack 1.6, a shareware utility that allows the standard PowerBook, iBook, MacBook and MacBook Pro trackpad to behave as a multi-button scrolling mouse.

The new version, a 1.6 megabyte download, adds the following fixes and changes:
-Compatible with the public release of Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
-Supports November 2007 MacBook models.
-Workaround for Leopard built-in keyboard driver dependency by supplying a wrapper keyboard driver with SideTrack.
-Change trackpad tap click timing logic to accommodate Leopard applications with slow event loops (Finder, possibly others).

SideTrack 1.6 requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later and a supported MacBook, MacBook Pro, PowerBook or iBook laptop to run. The software retails for a US$15 shareware registration fee.

If you've tried SideTrack or have anything to say about the new version, let us know in the comments or forums.
