The Apple Core: Inside Intel's Penryn Chip
On Monday, Intel took the next step and announced its new family of quad-core mobile processors. The new generation, known as the Penryn line, include the revised Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad and Xeon family of processors.
Needless to say, PowerPage head honcho Jason O'Grady is interested in them (probably to an irrational degree) and has assembled a full set of technical details, specifications and links over in the latest installment of The Apple Core.
The end result: Hopefully a faster processor that will consume less energy, generate less heat and provide lower resistance via the new materials used in its construction. Time will tell and if there's anything to be seen of the new chip out at Macworld Expo San Francisco next week, we'll do everything we can to tell you about it.
As always, the comments and forums are open and ready for business.
