Apple Releases ProKit 4.5 Update, Releases Braille Display 1.0 Support
On Tuesday, Apple released version 4.5 of its ProKit system components for Mac OS X as well as support for assorted Braille displays in its Mac OS X 10.5 ("Leopard") operating system.
The ProKit update, a 22.4 megabyte download, improves reliability for Apple's professional applications such as Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Express, Aperture, Logic Studio and Logic Express.
The ProKit 4.5 update requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later to run.
Sort of coming from out of nowhere and not widely anticipated, Apple also released its Braille Display 1.0 software. A 448 kilobyte download, the software adds support for the following refreshable Braille displays:
-GW Micro BrailleSense
-GW Micro SyncBraille 20
-GW Micro SyncBraille 32
-HandyTech Easy Braille
-HandyTech Braille Star 40
-HandyTech Braille Star 80
-HIMS BrailleSense
-HIMS SyncBraille 20
-HIMS SyncBraille 32
-Nippon Telesoft Seika Version 3
-Papenmeier Braillex Trio
Braille Display 1.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later to run.
