Apple, Canadian Firm Battle Over iPhone Trademark, Database Updated

iphone3.jpg

According to the guys over at iPhone World, the Canadian Trademarks database has been updated per a trademark conflict regarding the iPhone in Canada.

The conflict began when Apple and Canadian VoIP provider Comwave began arguing over the ownership of the iPhone trademark in Canada.

On March 25th, the Canadian trademark registration page was updated with the site stating that the preliminary report on the trademark will be complete at the end of June, 2008. Whether this indicates that Canadians will need to wait until July to receive the iPhone is unclear and as of now, the Canadian iPhone trademark is registered to neither Apple nor Comwave.

If you've heard anything else about this case or would like to throw your two cents in, let us know in the comments or forums.
