Apple Releases Security Update 2008-002
Late Tuesday, Apple released Security Update 2008-002 for its Mac OS X operating system. According to Macworld, the update contains over 40 fixes for assorted system components.
The update, which ranges from a 50.9 to 109 megabyte download, principally focuses on a fix for Podcast Producer to prevent it from potentially sending passwords that can be viewed by local users as well as repairing an issue in Preview that could allow PDF files to be read without entering a password.
Other repaired components include elements such as Apache, AppKit, ClamAV, CoreServices, CUPS and curl.
The entire (and rather massive) list of changes made in the update can be seen here.
Security Update 2008-002 is available through Mac OS X's Software Update feature and requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later to install and run.
If you've tried the update and noticed any major changes (positive or negative), let us know in the comments or forums.
