Hasn't there always been a discount for educators/students? I got $100 off the original MacBook (when that was new) just for being loosely affiliated with a university (non-salaried appointment)

Yes, there has always been an 'ed' discount. These prices are the normal 'ed' price. what does it mean? My guess is new product soon ;=))

And when I bought a MacBook Pro for school at the end of last summer, I got $200 off of the price. It used to be a percentage a while back, but they just settled on standard discounts.

That is the normal discount, 100 off macbook, 200 off macbook pro, 50 off low-end imac, 100 off other imacs and 200 off mac pros. Been that way for a while, nothing new about this... you can also get 10% non-pro software and teachers get 20 off of one2one..

This is standard education pricing. How did this get through to be posted as NEWS?
