The Apple Core: Apple May Have Unsupported the AirDisk

fruitlogo1.jpg

It's odd and comes out of nowhere, but it may be where things stand right now.

Apple representatives have reportedly confirmed that the company won't support AirDisks as well as Time Machine backups to a hard drive connected to an Apple AirPort Extreme router.

Head over to the Apple Core for full details on the story and if you've seen this on your end, let us know in the comments or forums.

What the heck is this bs? Are there so many monkeys running around that no one verifies their facts? I set up TWO USB drives on my airport extreme this weekend using a USB hub. One for Time Machine, the other for general media storage. Works great with 10.5.2. Unsupported? I don't think so guys.

Yes, it is unsupported - by Apple. It may work - for YOU, but for others, no, it doesn't, and Apple will NOT assist these users in getting it working!

Or, and this is important, so listen carefully - if YOUR backups to this unsupported Airdisk - FAIL - don't call Apple, you are well and truly screwed, they will not help you.
