AT&T Removes Single-Unit-Per-Customer Limit

Late last week, wireless carrier AT&T removed its controversial one-unit-per-customer iPhone limit that had been imposed last week in favor of the previous three-units-per-customer limit.

According to InformationWeek, it's unknown as to exactly what caused this policy and if the restriction came from a shortage of the device. The company's previous restriction to allow the iPhone to be purchased only with a credit or debit card remains in place.

"Our No. 1 concern is to make sure that every customer who wants an iPhone gets one," an AT&T spokesman said. "We thought yesterday that the fairest way to do that was to limit customers to one iPhone. Then we realized that we have sufficient inventory to go back to our original policy."

If you've seen or heard otherwise or noticed the iPhone inventory levels changing in your area, let us know in the comments or forums.

Read as: Apple is coming out with a 3G model soon and if we don't get rid of them now no one will want one. We better let the unlockers get them quick before we are stuck with them in inventory..
