fruitlogo1.jpg

With less than two months remaining until the second generation iPhone is expected to be released, we here at the PowerPage want to know what you want from the new handset:

What Do You Want from a Second Generation iPhone?
3G or bust!
A smaller form factor.
Longer battery life.
Brighter/more vivid screen.
A faster processor.
More memory.
More third party applications via the iPhone 2.0 update.
My very own pony to come free with the iPhone.

tethering to laptop, aka bluetooth DUN.

What's the point in tethering? (unless 3G), iPhone and computers are faster on wifi.

What I would like is a more left handed friendly phone I'm really getting tired of paying for 1/3 of my calls that are made unintentionally by scrolling with my left hand and the simple fact of flicking thru my contacts starts to dial the number. Certain phone functions should use the standard Mac interface of double clicking to activate 1) Phone number dialing list or email, 2) Reload a Web page - Pain in the ---- when playing a game and your right thumb slides over the reload button causing the page to reload and your best game ever lost for eternity.
Finally a comment on my vote for longer Battery Life. What good is 3G going to be if you have to drag around a car battery to keep your phone alive for a normal work day.

A must is to be able to use a bluetooth or other keyboard and ability to edit of office documents.
(Screen is good enough for lots of tasks but keypad is way inadequate for entering any amount of text.

I want the features I've had on my Sony Ericsson Z600 for the last 5 years - voice control, voice dialing, bluetooth sync (not using iTunes).

I think having video conferencing would be appropriate, especially if Apple would release iChatAV for Windows. Also, making the battery user replaceable is important. More memory is always nice, as well as a faster processor.

I would like to see in the new iPhone:

#1. Faster 3G wireless access.
#2. Adobe Flash playback.
#3. Microsoft Surface compatibility (surface computing).
#4. A smaller form factor.
#5. Longer Battery Life.
#6. The ability to mark phone numbers as spam so that you do not receive a call or text from that number.
#7. 30 fps video chat with other iPhone users.
#8. Video recording using built in camera.
#9. Fingerprint recognition security to unlock.

#10. The ability to receive a 30 fps video call from a PC/Mac computer.
