Rumor: Rogers Wireless to Provide $7/Month Unlimited Data Plan for 3G iPhone
Last month, wireless carrier Rogers that it would be bringing the iPhone north to Canada. Per an Electronista article, sources close to the story have stated that the company will launch a 3G iPhone next month (approximated to be about the same time as the U.S. launch) which will qualify for Rogers' new $7 (Canadian currency) unlimited data plan.
Over the years, Rogers has been notorious for its high data costs, making the change a welcome one where a speedy 3G iPhone might be considered.
Though the rumor has yet to be officially confirmed by either Apple or Rogers, this serves as potentially good news given the new market as well as additional support to the mounting iPhone 3G fervor...
If you've heard anything on your end about this, let us know over in the comments or forums.

Sounds true, my latest Rogers plan includes 10gb for $7, as part of a bundle, not a big jump up to "unlimited" from there.

$7 unlimited would be great - I hope this news is true !

This is unlikely to be true. Roger's $7 unlimited plan VERY MUCH HAS LIMITS. You can only go to certain permitted web sites AND you have to go there using applications certified by Rogers. Nothing else. They don't even let users with other Smartphones like BlackBerry's sign up for this "unlimited" plan.

Not going to happen. The current $7 plan has so many ridiculous restrictions you might as well 'brick' the iPhone before you take it out of the box, it'll be useless. A more likely scenario is an under-$100 truly unlimited phone+internet plan, but with Rogers even that is probably wishful thinking.

The Rogers Wireless unlimited Internet does not include powerpage.org. Or my blog. Or yours. But if you need the Internet to read the New York Times, you are OK. www.rogers.com/mobileinternet , click on 1.What is included.
