Sybase Announces Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange Support for iPhone 3G

On Tuesday, software developer Sybase announced extended support for the iPhone 3G within its iAnywhere Mobile Office package. The program, which functions as an intermediary layer between corporate e-mail systems, allows users to perform tasks such as attachment limiting, e-mail deletion or user blocking and allows iPhone users to use their native e-mail client.

According to MacNN, the updated system features support for both the Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes programs. Unfortunately, the Mobile Office software does not currently support push e-mail however, nor does it enable calendar, contact, and corporate directory use. These features are promised "in the near future."

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available and if you've used Sybase's products on your iPhone, let us know in the comments or forums.
