alg4.jpg

In other news, Apple may be censoring discussion of a display manufacturing defect found in a run of its 17" PowerBook G4 notebooks and dodging the question that the defect even exists. According to the Bridget Riley blog, a majority of comments regarding a one pixel wide, vertical line appearing on the 17" PowerBook screens were deleted from Apple's forums.

The notebooks were manufactured in Apple's W8 factory based in Shanghai around April of 2005 and run at 1.67 GHz.

According to the blog, all but seven PowerBook G4 units exhibiting the problem emerged from the W8 Shanghai factory around April of 2005 and start with the serial number W85.

If you've seen this problem on your end or heard about it, please let us know in the comments or forums.
