Orange Hires Actors to Wait for Polish iPhone Launch

3giphone.jpg

Because your day wasn't strange enough already.

On Friday, Reuters reported that wireless carrier Orange has hired actors to line up at "...twenty stores" in Poland to spark interest in the iPhone launch.

"We have these fake queues at front of 20 stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone," a spokesman for the company said said.

The iPhone 3G is set to ship in Poland later this month with the base plan retailing for 195PLN (US$45) per month and offering 150 minutes of talk time plus 500 megabytes of data traffic allowed on the account.

Kind of odd since the American audience was happy to camp out for free.

Interesting. I wonder if they'll leave the line once real people start showing up too, or do they fake buying iPhones as well during the launch.
