Swedish Engineers Test iPhone's 3G Functionality, Release Results

If you're irate about the iPhone 3G's 3G network reception, the tests are in and the Swedes have found it to be normal.
According to Engadget, a group of engineers at Bluetest in Gothenburg, Sweden, tested the iPhone 3G against a Nokia N73 and a Sony Ericsson P1.
The results stated that the P1 was slightly better at receiving signals and the N73 was a little better at sending signals with the difference between these handsets and the iPhone 3G being negligible. The antenna engineer involved in the tests announced that the iPhone 3G's capabilities were "completely normal."
The testing equipment involved was similar to that used by the FCC and mobile phone manufacturers to make sure that their phones are able to properly send and receive signals without interfering with other devices. These tests only tested the iPhone 3G hardware. There are other factors involved as well, including the device firmware and software.

Then why is it when I put my daughters Motorola Razr with 3G from AT&T next to my Iphone, she has 4 bars and I don't have any. There is a serious problem with the Iphone that needs to be addressed soon by Apple.

Serious Problem, no kidding. I agree. I was on an important call because my Mom was sick and the phone cut out. Good thing it was not a life or death emergency or AT&T and Apple would be getting a letter from my lawyer just about now. This is nonsense. They are both at fault. Personally, regardless of the phone, software, etc, I blame AT&T more. It's their network. They should have known because there are too many problems not to have know something was up. We are all reading the blogs about the Infeon chip. I am already committed to acting on this. I'll give them until the end of September to solve this with their miracle software patch. If that does not work, the phone goes to ebay and I go back to Verizon, for good.

After spending Saturday afternoon w/ Apple's "Genius Bar," I dropped every call I attempted that night. sunday morning, I tried to call Apple to see what additional troubleshooting steps I could take. Three times I waited for 15 minutes, three times my call "failed." Did I mention that my phone was stationary on my couch? Next to a window? In a midtown Manhattan apartment?
HELP!! This is horrendous!
