Adobe to Release CS4 Details in September 23rd Webcast
For Adobe fans, there's some cool stuff coming down the pipe.
According to AppleInsider, the company, which released public beta versions of its Creative Suite 4-bound applications such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Soundbooth in late May will release an overview of its next-generation software bundle at 1 PM EST on Tuesday, September 23rd.
"Are you ready for something brilliant?," the company wrote on the digital registration form for the presentation. "Be one of the first to see Adobe Creative Suite 4.0 in a special web broadcast."
Recent rumors have cited that Adobe is aiming for its near 18-month refresh cycle of its Creative Suite package and may have CS4 out as early as October, though this claim seems to be hotly contested by company representatives.
Sources close to the Creative Suite 4 project have stated that a fair amount of Adobe's resources were devoted to bringing the Dreamweaver and Fireworks applications up to spec. The company is also expected to release a handful of significant improvements to its Photoshop and Flash programs.
For example, the company is expected to announce that Photoshop CS4 (codenamed "Stonehenge") will be capable of pulling in 3D objects as wireframes. Although UV mapping won't be supported, the feature will reportedly allow sales teams to perform quick color changes and color corrections.
Other new features may include the following:
If you've managed to get your mitts on the CS4 beta and can offer an opinion or feedback about it, let us know over in the comments or forums.
