3giphone.jpg

On Monday, the long-awaited Fring Voice Over Internet Protocol program arrived for the iPhone.

According to Macworld UK, the software lets users make free, Internet-based calls to other Fring users as well as Fring using Skype, Skype-out or any other SIP provider.

The software also supports the MSN Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo! and AIM protocols and lets users make calls over WiFi while remaining connected to chat services using 3G, WiFi, GPRS and EDGE.

If you've played with Fring and have any opinions about it, please let us know in the comments or forums.

I played with fring early on, back in the 1.1.x days of the iphone... It actually worked quite well, but it caused my txt and voicemail to crash and then disappear. I'm sure that problem has been fixed. Can'y wait to see how it's working now.
