3giphone.jpg

Recently, Canadian wireless carriers Rogers and Fido announced the end of a calling plan that offered six gigabytes of data for $30CAD per month. In its place, two new plans have emerged. The first offers users 250 daytime minutes, one gigabyte of data, 75 sent text messages, Visual Voicemail and unlimited evenings and weekends (9PM to 7AM on Rogers, 7PM to 8AM on Fido) for $75CAD per month. According to MacNN, Fido customers receive unlimited network calling and billing by the second.

The second plan includes 400 daytime minutes, two gigabytes of data, 100 sent text messages, Visual Voicemail, and unlimited evenings and weekends for $75CAD per month. Fido customers will also get unlimited network calling, unlimited long-distance network calling and billing by the second.

The two carriers also offer two different Value Packs that can be added on top. The $15CAD pack includes call display, WhoCalled, 2,500 texts, Caller Ring Trax and 2,500 call-forwarding minutes. The $20CAD Pack has all of the same features, but ups the text message limit to 10,000 and adds 6 PM early evenings for Rogers customers, and 5 PM early evenings on Fido.

If you've used Rogers or Fido before and can offer anything on this, please let us know in the comments or forums.

Fido is owned by Rogers, so in effect they are both the same company. A friend of mine told me of these offers before I read it at Powerpage, He still doesn't want to sign a 3 year contact with Rogers/Fido though, so he's not gonna get one. I have one with Fido
