I am very surprised to read this, I live in Monterrey Mexico, and TELCEL iPhone plans are very expensive, I had to buy the 2G version to have an iPhone.

It is true. The phones are already at Telcel“s website. As with everything Telcel, the phones are VERY expensive. The price you describe for the 8GB model is correct in dollars but in pesos it is really $7890. So it is more than $800 for your contract-free iphone. Also, it is worth noting that the cost of calls in this mode is about $4MXN or $US0.40 per minute. VERY XPENSIVE!
