The Great Pre-Launch Rumor Mill

applelogo1.jpg

24 hours before its long-awaited notebook event that may introduce its next generation of laptops, the rumor mill is in full swing.

Here's what we've got so far from assorted locations, you be the judge of what's more valid than the rest:

  • Over on Macx.cn, a wide range of pre-production shell images have been published of the new Macs. These shots suggest the addition of a new port that will appear on the device, which has driven speculation that the new units could include a dock interface or WiMax antenna.
  • Digg's Kevin Rose has predicted the Apple's new notebooks will include Blu-ray drives as an option on high-end MacBooks, though others anticipate new builds of iLife, even if the new builds only feature a software update to enable Blu-ray support.
  • Finally, Rose has put together rumors claiming that Apple may introduce a range of networked HDTV sets, perhaps combining Apple's Cinema Display units with the Apple TV or Mac Mini product lines.
  • We'll have this sorted out by tomorrow when the event goes live, but until then, give us a piece of your mind over in the comments or forums.
