On Wednesday, software developer announced an update to VNC Enterprise Edition, its remote access suite for the Mac, Windows and Unix operating systems. According to MacNN, the upcoming release introduces support for assorted cell phone, including Apple's iPhone. Moreover, system administrators will be able to manage a corporation's phones as well as computers through a VNC link.

Betas for the new version are expected sometime after the Symbian Smartphone Show, which ends October 22nd, and the final products are due in early 2009.

The Mac version requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later to install and run and licensing costs must be obtained directly from RealVNC.

If you've played with RealVNC in the past or have a virtual network client application of choice, please let us know in the comments or forums.
