VLC Updated to 0.9.4

Video Lan Client, the nigh-indispensable open source media player for multiple audio and video formats (MPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, Divx, ogg, etc.), has recently been updated to version 0.9.4. The new version, a 30.1 megabyte download, functions as a bug fix release and rectifies the following problems:

  • Crashes fixed in ogg, vobsub, dvdread.

  • Fixes several memory leaks.

  • Apple machines without Quartz Extreme are no longer supported (use 0.9.2 or earlier).

  • Fixed a crash with deletion of old preferences.

  • Fixed targetname for downloaded updates.
  • VLC 0.9.4 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later to run and is available as a free download.

Take a gander and let us know what you think of the new version in the comments or forums.
