It is true that boot camp 3.0 for snow leopard does not support windows 7 on the above listed models. However, I was still able to install windows 7 without using boot camp. I just created a windows partition with diskutil and formatted it for windows. Then I booted holding alt/option and chose the windows 7 (32 bit for me) disk to boot from. the install went fine. everything works fine, the only problem is that I cannot get sound to work. I've read below about the windows re-coding hack that might fix the sound, but my late 2006 macbookpro DOES run windows 7, just not with boot camp. If anyone knows anything different than the re-coding hack to try and get sound working, please let me know. If you need any help getting windows 7 installed with boot camp, let me know and maybe I can help, but what I just wrote is pretty self explanatory. Thanks.

I have an early 2006 imac, and your information is somewhat of a relief. Can you comment on parallels. Would they provide drivers for devices in that package?
Thanks,
NQ
