You can’t knock a company that regularly updates its software.

On Tuesday, Mozilla.org released version 19.0 of its Firefox web browser. The new version, a 39.6 megabyte download and adds the following fixes and changes:

- Built-in PDF viewer.

- Canvas elements can export their content as an image blob using canvas.toBlob().

- Startup performance improvements (bugs 715402 and 756313).

- Debugger now supports pausing on exceptions and hiding nonenumerable properties.

- Remote Web Console is available for connecting to Firefox on Android or Firefox OS.

Firefox 19.0 requires an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.6 or later to install and run.

If you’ve tried the new version and have any feedback to offer, please let us know in the comments.

Immediately after update to Firefox 19.0, it would no longer start with my selected home page, but would always start with a blank page. I tried several settings with no luck. But then (by luck) I dragged a .PDF file and dropped it on the Firefox desktop shortcut to test the built-in pdf viewer. This seemed to break-loose whatever setting was stuck, and now Firefox starts with my selected home page as expected.
